Wood Harris Is Daniel Watson

Meet Daniel Watson. A fun-loving husband and father, his infectious sense of humor keeps his family laughing, even when he’s cracking jokes at their expense. As the Watsons prepare to depart on their road trip from Michigan to Alabama, Daniel surprises his wife and kids by installing a state-of-the-art record player in his 1948 Plymouth so they can listen to their favorite songs during the journey. That’s one cool dad.

But it’s not all fun and games for Daniel. Ill at ease in the south, he worries that Birmingham’s not a safe place for his family in the summer of 1963. Will he be able to protect his loved ones as history unfolds around them?
