Charlotte's Web — True Friends Contest

In celebration of the theme of friendship that is central in Charlotte's Web, students in grades K-4 were invited to submit a one-page essay on "true friends." Walden Media selected one winning essay based on creativity, description, and understanding of a "true friend". Katie W. from Pocatello, ID was the unanimous selection of the judges for her story about her friendship with Meschach. Katie won a trip to the world premiere of the Charlotte's Web movie in Los Angeles.

The Winning Essay:
I have a best friend and he is a boy. I am a girl. He is a true friend because of all the things he does with me. He goes on walks with me, he pulls me on my sled in the winter. My true friend weighs 120 pounds and I weigh 56 pounds, but when we play, he is always gentle. My best friend is my dog Meschach. Meschach watches over me and loves me no matter what.
