Recently released in paperback, David Adams treats his subject thoroughly. Includes very good accounts of the personnel associated with the boarding schools of the period and lays out the events that led to the final demise of the Carlisle School. This book is a good basic Indian Education primer with a strong emphasis on the Carlisle School.
