A Stomping Good Time

A MOVIE that is all about rhythm and the exploration of sound, "Pulse: a STOMP Odyssey", takes the Imax audience around the globe.
"STOMP's" creators and co-directors Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas say the film is about the rhythm and music of the world.
"It is a trip that takes us to Africa, to India, to South America, to England, to Spain, and back to the US," McNicholas said.
"PULSE is not a bigger version of "STOMP" on stage. "STOMP" is a stage show, it is meant to be a live experience.
"What we would rather do in this format is take you on a different kind of journey. First, we wanted to push "STOMP" a little bit further and explore areas that we couldn't possibly explore on stage. So we play an entire building, and we have "STOMP" perform 30 feet underwater. These are things that you can't possibly do on stage."
Cresswell said "STOMP's" role in the film was to be the audience's tour guide, showing where sounds came from and where they originated.
"So in the film we take a look at the sound of buffalo running and compare that directly to the sound of a subway roaring," he said.
