Veterans Day comes around every year on November 11. Perhaps we have become so accustomed to this November holiday that we no longer stop to think what it represents. It is a day to honor and remember our Veterans.
What is a Veteran? A Veteran is a soldier who has served his or her country in the armed forces, Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines. Veterans fight to defend our freedoms.
This Veterans Day is a perfect opportunity for us to impart to our children lessons on why Veteran’s are honored every November 11. To learn more, you can read the History of Veterans Day from Department of Veteran’s Affairs, or research it in even more detail from The History Channel. Or, is it Armistice Day?
