Ingrid Law is a big fan of words and stories, small towns and big ideas.
Born in New York, Ingrid’s family moved to Colorado when she was six years old. She has sold shoes, worked in a bookstore, helped other people get jobs, and assembled boxes for frozen eggplant burgers. Her debut novel, Savvy, is a New York Times bestseller, a recipient of the Boston-Globe Horn Book Honor Award and was most recently awarded a prestigious Newbery Honor. Ingrid and her teenage daughter live in Colorado.
In Ingrid’s words:
“When I turned six, my family moved to Colorado, where my father taught in a one-room school house in the tiny mountain town on Gold Hill. In Gold Hill, and places like it, I discovered that small things and small places can be just as interesting and extraordinary as big noisy one, and even now I’m drawn to tiny towns and quiet places possessing their own charm and quirky character.”
