Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean. They use research, education, community action and advocacy to pursue their mission.
They are offering free downloadable lesson plans in English and Spanish to teachers. Not just for the Southern California audience, the lesson plans include activities on water pollution, the ground water table, the marine ecosystem and the environmental impact our actions have. These lessons are great for students in grades 2-5, and are a lot of fun!
