Five Fun Halloween Books for Children

Halloween fun starts long before trick-or-treat night and lasts long after Halloween day, especially with these favorite Halloween books for children.  Pumpkins, witches and monsters…oh my!

  1. The Night Before Halloween by Natasha Wing uses the familiarity of Twas the Night Before Christmas to get children ready for costumes and trick-or-treating.  Fun and friendly.
  2. Five Little Pumpkins by Iris Van Rynbach makes the traditional rhyme dance on the page as the pumpkins join the trick-or-treaters for a night of fun.  Always fun to recite with and without the book.
  3. A Dark, Dark Tale by Ruth Brown is just the right amount of scarey for preschoolers.  CIt gets better with every rereading as children come to expect what hides in dark, dark places!
