Joey King speaks with The Los Angeles Times’ Amy Alcon at the 2010 Festival of Books. King, who plays Ramona in the upcoming Ramona & Beezus answered audience questions and met her fans.
This past weekend, thousands of people flocked to The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Held on the UCLA campus, the event is one of the largest and most prestigious book festivals in the country. It features celebrity authors, publishers, booksellers and cultural organizations. This year, visitors were also treated to a special meet and greet with RAMONA & BEEZUS star Joey King.
King who plays Ramona in the upcoming film was all smiles during her interview on the Etc. Stage. She answered audience questions, and then signed autographs for young new fans.
Walden Media also hosted a booth during the festival. Our very popular face painting booth had crowds lined up all weekend to get a glimpse of our new projects, a special Ramona & Beezus and Voyage of the Dawn Treader bookmark and a free face paint. Joey King herself stopped by to join in the fun.
Our partners at Schooltube.com were on-hand to interview children who stopped by the booth about their favorite books. All the videos will appear on Walden’s special Schooltube.com channel later this month.
This year’s festival was fantastic, and Walden was thrilled to be a part of it.
