5 Must-Sees at the IRA Convention

The Annual International Reading Association Convention begins this Sunday 4/25. This year’s IRA convention not only offers great speakers and author meet and greets, it also features an exclusive look at several new Walden projects.

Here are some of the top must-sees of the convention:

1. The Goody Bag. This year, Walden has placed an exclusive RAMONA & BEEZUS and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER bookmark in each goody bag. Be sure check out the bookmark for information on Walden’s Ramona & Beezus School Supply Sweepstakes.

2. Scumble. The Penguin booth will have advanced reading copies of SCUMBLE: the upcoming sequel to the Newbery Award-winning book SAVVY.

3. Newbery Award-Winning Author Ingrid Law. At convention, Savvy author will appear not once but 5 times to offer fans autographs, and will appear one 2 panels:

4. HarperCollins Booth. The HarperCollins booth will be handing out exclusive Ramona & Beezus and Voyage of the Dawn Treader materials. Be sure to visit their booth to get these special teaching tools.
The HarperCollins Booth will also feature the upcoming titles for the new imprint WALDEN POND PRESS.

5. Al Gore. The former Vice President and co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize joins Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan and Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole Director of the National Museum of African Art as general session key note speakers. Be sure to attend their inspiring talks.
